Camping from £1 with The Sun

CHALLENGE:

To build on the success of the Sun’s £9.50 Holidays brand with an additional camping and touring promotion

GFM SOLUTION:

We contacted holiday parks across the UK inviting them to take part in this promotion to offer readers the chance to camp under the stars for less in August, September and October. To support the promotion, we created an 8-page supplement for The Sun featuring over 100 participating holiday parks, and agreed with Harper Collins to license and print their maps featuring the park locations. The supplement was created to act as a touring guide and also included a voucher for money off camping equipment at Millets.

PARTNER BENEFIT:

This is a ground-breaking promotion for The Sun, which also benefited from TV exposure. Participating parks have been able to upsell on extras including entertainment passes, electric hook-ups for caravans and motorhomes and upgrades to superior pitches.

RESULT:

The response from readers so far has been fantastic, with all participating parks/operators reporting strong interest from readers wishing to book touring or camping pitches.
