GFM created a “2 free adult tickets” promotion which was placed in The Sun newspaper. Readers made a postal application for free tickets on off peak days.
Alton Towers received ten days of editorial coverage in the Sun Newspaper boosting the Alton Towers Brand as well as generating incremental revenue from the promotion.
250 000 responses. The average group size was 4.5 so for every two tickets Alton Towers gave away they sold a further 2 – 3 tickets and benefitted from on park spend.
