When the BBC Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) had the task of creating a Tsunami fund raising appeal and needed to rapidly deploy an IVR donation line and a transcription team for processing they called GFM.
We had telephone lines up and running in record time and shifts of people planned for the next day. In the first few days we had received over 125 000 calls and processed £3m worth of donations.
The DEC needed a trustworthy organisation to process donations swiftly.
Our processes for the safe and secure capture of donation line data and its subsequent delivery were reliable. GFM surpassed all the requirement made by the DEC and we have been part of the rapid deployment team on every other campaign launched since the Tsunami fund including Niger, Darfur, Asia quake, Bangladesh, Burma and The Congo.
